We Care

We believe in building loving, trusting relationships between the children, teachers and families. It is these relationships that make our center so special.

Our part-day programs run from September to June for Toddlers 18 months to 30 months of age, and for Preschoolers  2.5 years to 5 years of age.

About Us

Bronte Harbour Nursery School is an outstanding, inclusive, non-profit nursery school located right here in beautiful Bronte. Our exceptional part-day programs run from September to June for Toddlers 18 months to 30 months of age, and Preschoolers 2 ½ years to 5 years of age.
We provide top quality care, and are proud of the loving, trusting relationships we build between the children, teachers and families. This is what sets us apart from other centers; it’s what makes Bronte Harbour so special.
The heart of Bronte Harbour Nursery School is our amazing team of teachers. You can trust that your child will be in the very best of hands when you meet the loving, well-trained professionals who make our nursery school such a wonderful place.
If you are looking for a warm, welcoming, and enriching experience for your child, then this is the place for you. And we just keep getting better!
In September 2018,  our classes were extended by 30 minutes. Classes now run from 9:00am-12:00pm, rather than the privious 9:00am-11:30am. Parents expressed a need for longer program times, and we’ve worked hard to make that happen.
And in addition to increasing the length of our classes, we’ve also added Zumba Kids Jr. to our gross motor/gym time! Our very own Miss Nikki is a licensed Zumba instructor, and we are thrilled that she is sharing her knowledge and skills with the children. This fun and engaging addition to our programs allows the children the chance to learn how their bodies move, while exploring the different rhythms and sounds from around the world. Children derive so many benefits from physical activity…and Zumba Kids Jr. is such a fun way to get moving! Some centers bring in outside experts to enrich their programs…we just happened to have our own already!

Inclusive Practices are  Honoured at Our

We believe that every child has the right to full participation in our programs and access to the same hours and days of attendance. As such, we provide an approach to teaching that recognizes the diversity of students, enabling all students to access course content, fully participate in learning activities and demonstrate their knowledge and strengths at assessment.

Free play

Children are free to choose. There is an area for tactile sensory play with sand, water and playdough. A variety of toys are rotated regularly to keep the children engaged. There is a free-art center, puzzles and books.
Children can choose to play alone, in small groups or large groups.

Small group activities:

A variety of activities, with plenty of adult interaction and guidance, designed to enhance the skills the children are acquiring. Included are: matching and sorting games; using manipulatives to build and create; fine motor enhancement activities and much more

Large group activities

Activities including movement and music, storytelling and sharing experiences are designed to help children build a sense of community. These activities promote co-operation, sharing, taking turns, and enhance social development.

Gym Time

We have access to a large gymnasium inside the building! Both the Toddler and Preschool programs have gym time every day. One of our teachers is a licensed Zumba instructor and we are proud to offer Zumba Kids part of the program.
