Access Abilities can help you with your home healthcare needs
and the incredible people there will always do it with a smile!
Access Abilities owned by David and Kristin Courtney employs a wonderful team of knowledgeable people including six on-the-road product consultants who can visit your home for free to perform a complete assessment. This will help you understand the home healthcare products that will provide you with the greatest benefits. If you live in the Halton Region, you may qualify for financial assistance.
One of the most valuable services Access Abilities offers is their help with individuals being discharged from hospital. “The discharge can only be successful if the patient does not have to go back.” says David. “We work with occupational therapists to ensure the transition is successful. This is where a little planning prevents lots of expense and suffering for the individual. We can help most people make the hospital to home transition sooner and safer with such items as a commode, bed, cane, crutches and walker.”
They also carry many aids for daily living, lift and recline chairs, mobility scooters, stairlifts, ceiling track lifts, scooter lifts for vehicles and more.
The Courtney’s passion for helping people shows by how involved they are in the community. Access Abilities together with their lovely staff host a number of annual events for health professionals and also for seniors in the Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Hamilton and Toronto regions, and beyond including a Networking Reception for health and senior care professionals, Home Medical Equipment and Educational Conference, Strawberry Shortcake and Ice Cream Socials, Wok N’ Roll Power Wheelchair Lunch N’ Learn and the Veterans Appreciation Luncheon, which brings many Veterans, their guests, dignitaries and volunteers from the community together the first Monday of each November since 2002.
In addition Access Abilities passionately supports and engages with numerous local charities “It is an honour and privilege to give back to our fantastic community. We work with amazing staff who are quick to lend a hand to help make things happen.” Kristin says, glowing with happiness.
When you purchase your home healthcare, mobility or accessibility product from Access Abilities, you not only obtain a product that will enhance your life but also the company’s commitment to provide the service you may need long after the sale.
Be sure to stop by one of their locations and visit the friendly professionals to learn how they may help you. – And prepare to be delighted!
Access Every Level of Your Home with a Stairlift

If you or your loved ones have any concerns about safely going up and down your stairs, we can help you. A simple remedy is a stairlift which can be made to fit curved or straight staircases and are quiet, clean, compact and very efficient. A stairlift or a porchlift can also be installed outdoors.
Here are some answers to commonly asked questions about stairlifts:
Will the stairlift take up a lot of room in my home?
Not necessarily. Stairlifts are as narrow as 13″ when folded.
Are there major renovations required to install a stairlift?
There are no renovations required to install a stair lift. Stair lift tracks are mounted to the stair, and not the wall. No special power is needed and no restoration is required to remove the stair lift.
Can I rent a stairlift if I only need one temporarily?
Yes, we offer rental of straight run stairlifts as curved stairlifts are custom fit to your home. Contact us to learn more about our services, including rentals and prices.
Can I receive funding for a stairlift?
There are options for funding. Please contact us for further information.
